PRESENT & FUTURE
Currently, artist is interacting with the visual nature of renaissance aesthetics related to the fashion, fabrics, dresses, draperies and designs from the era. Giovanni is finding enjoyment in exploring crispiness of certain materials that can reproduce this renaissance aesthetics and import them into the modern world and contemporary art by producing textured, rough on touch, visually appealing artworks. Inspired by nature, artist is taking photo images of either random patterns, textures, marks that weather or time elements made within her surroundings and/or tree roots, tree bark or branches. Referring to the specific colour palettes of nature these creations are further evolving in the artist studio. Aesthetics of the nature are translated and interpreted into the variety of fabrics and textured art. Ideas are endless, colours are monochrome, shapes are rustic, raw and attractive. Materials are mostly mixed media related, with the diversity of materials, or mediums like impasto, resin sand medium, dimensional joint compound, 3D textured modelling paste, inks and acrylic paint. Exploring all of the art, this artist is ready for taking risks, going into adventures with eyes and mind wide open for innovative art practices with moto: ''Let the Art do all the talking!''.
PAST
In the past, Giovanni worked on describing nature's energy through different lenses - emotional affection and aesthetics of sublime through monochrome, soft, high contrast melancholic tones. Giovanni’s painting work practice was seeking inspiration from nature and highlighted imagery of her immediate surroundings. Giovanni explored the concept and idea of pareidolia as an innovative technique at that time. Seeing the potential in cracks on a wall, concrete, pathways, stairs, floors, ceilings, shadows, windows, etc. Giovanni awaked pareidolia imagery that visually reminded her of landscape sceneries. Exploring different filters in digital media Giovanni kept informative data and used as reference in her art creations. Artist relied on her expressiveness, brush strokes and mark making. Taking advantage of the medium Giovanni celebrated nature’s mysterious beauty in found landscapes.
